Fixed weekly departures for the “Camino del Apu Ausangate” Trek depart every Friday, from the first week of April until the last week of October.
Part one of the offer includes several programs in Cusco, the “Sacred Valley of the Incas” and Machu Picchu (for detailed information consult our “Acclimatization Programs” page.
The second part of the package contains the complete “Camino del Apu Ausangate” trek as published on our website under “Suggested Program”. This includes the full service of our four newly constructed Andean Lodges.
The following program begins and ends in the city of Cusco.
Day 1: Transfer to your hotel. In the afternoon city tour in Cusco, which consists of the Cathedral, the Inca museum, and the former sun temple Koricancha.

Day 2: We will begin our two day excursion to the Urubamba Valley, referred to as the “Sacred Valley of the Incas.” On the way checking out the immense “fortress” of Sacsayhuaman, the church of Andahuaylillas, the so called “Sistine Chapel of the Americas” (due to impressive indigenous frescoes) in the village of Andahuaylillas, and the bustling market town of Pisaq. A hearty lunch is served in San Salvador, accompanied by a weaving demonstration by local artisans.

Day 3: We shall further explore the Sacred Valley and its surroundings; including the unique circular terraces of Moray, the astonishing manmade salt ponds of Maras (initiated by the Incas and still in use today). According to the day of the week, we can either visit the indigenous market of Chinchero, or the town of Ollantaytambo, renowned for its original Inka patterns.
Overnight stay at the “Valle Sagrado Lodge.
Day 4: We embark by train from Ollantaytambo to Aguas Calientes and take a bus ride up to Machu Picchu. In the afternoon, there will be a guided tour of the “Lost City of the Inca Empire.”
Accommodation in the Hotel Presidente (in Aguas Calientes, below Machu Picchu).
Day 5: Second entry into Peru’s most enigmatic and fascinating archaeological site. You will have plenty of time to explore Machu Picchu and its surroundings on your own, before returning to Cusco by train in the late afternoon.

Day 6: Itinerary and services of the following five days of trekking are identical with the description on our page Suggested Program.
Day 10: The program concludes with a picnic style lunch on the last day of trekking, and the transfer back to the city of Cusco.
The cost of the program is US$ 1695, per person for a group of 6, it includes standard hotel rates during the first 5 days of acclimatization.
